COMPLETE 100 HOURS
Students at the Carlton College of Sport have the opportunity to complete 100 hours of work-based placement at the Carlton Football Club and with our network of industry partners.

Carlton College of Sport students studying the Diploma of Sport Coaching and Development or the Diploma of Elite Sport Business have the opportunity to get behind the scenes access at the Carlton Football Club.
Placements include assisting coaches at AFL, AFLW, VFL and VFLW training sessions, fan engagement on game day, media monitoring, facilitating community programs and many more.
Students completing placement at the Northern Knights Football Club get hands on experience at the NAB League level, developing their coaching skills at training sessions and on game days.
Learn the fundamentals of coaching, assisting in set up and pack down of drills and equipment, help with match day operations and assist staff in talent identification and delivery of trials.
Placement with AFL Victoria includes assisting staff at the AUSKICK half time sites at the MCG and Marvel Stadium across every round of the AFL season. Students will have the opportunity to run out onto the ground to supervise the AUSKICK half time games.
In 2022, students will assist AFL Victorian and AUSKICK staff in running school clinics across different regions in greater Melbourne.
Gain experience in professional gym environment with placements at Belgravia Leisure facilities including Ascot Vale Leisure Centre, Knox Leisureworks and WaterMarc. Students will observe gym staff and exercise physiologists conduct consultations and assessments.
Other opportunities include assisting placement supervisors with administrative tasks, cleaning and maintaining gym equipment and co-facilitating group classes with placement supervisors.
The Carlton College of Sport is launching a new placement with the South East Melbourne Phoenix basketball team in 2022!
Game day placements will include responsibilities in hospitality functions with sponsors and corporate guests, ticketing and membership services, In-Bowl operations to ensure smooth game operations, concourse activations and pre-game entertainment.
Placement with the Hawks Netball Club offers an exciting opportunity for students in the Diploma of Elite Sport Business to develop their sports media and journalism skills.
Placement at the Hawks includes overseeing and producing content for all social media channels, post-match review write ups as well as player and staff interviews.
