Taylah Tramontana’s career in the sporting industry is a testament to her passion, commitment, and unwavering pursuit of excellence.

From her early aspirations to her current role at Carlton Football Club, Taylah’s journey reflects a story of hard work, perseverance, and determination.

Taylah always knew she had a passion for the sports industry, though the exact direction of her career was initially unclear. "I have always had a passion for sport, especially AFL. Before I chose a career pathway in the sporting industry, I always had a job in mind that had to do with sport. I had an interest early on to be a personal trainer and then a primary school PE teacher," she shared. Determined to find her place in the sport industry, Taylah enrolled in the Carlton College of Sport (CCoS) in 2023.

During her year at CCoS, Taylah participated in a wide variety of placements, built connections within the industry, and made lifelong friendships. “My year at CCoS proved to me how passionate I was for the industry and showed me how much I wanted to make an impact on an elite sporting environment,” she reflected.

While completing her studies, Taylah began building her career with a role as a Game Development Officer with AFL Victoria. "My first job in sport was a Game Development Officer with AFL Victoria" she noted. In this position, she was responsible for conducting general Australian Football game development programs in both school and community environments. She also supported the delivery of AFL Active and NAB AFL Auskick programs, and assisted in delivering AFL Victoria’s Sporting School Program strategy.

After gaining valuable experience, Taylah transitioned to the Western Bulldogs as a Membership Sales Officer. This role helped her establish critical skills for the industry, including outstanding customer service, teamwork, and sales strategies. Taylah’s impressive performance in this role paved the way for her to secure one of the four graduate roles at Carlton Football Club as a Membership Sales Officer (MSO) in 2024.

During her time as an MSO at Carlton, Taylah volunteered to assist the Marketing and Communications team in any capacity she could. “I had shown my interest in the communications space,” she explained. “I was volunteering to help the team in any way I could, which allowed me to build great relationships with them.” This commitment eventually led to her securing her current role as the Consumer Communications Coordinator at the Carlton Football Club.

In her current role, Taylah is responsible for managing and delivering key communication touchpoints (SMS and emails) to Carlton Football Club members, overseeing email engagement with members, and assisting in managing the Club’s consumer business communication schedule. Her role also involves collaborating closely with the Marketing team to ensure effective communication strategies.

While Taylah is focused on excelling in her current role, she remains committed to her long-term goal of leading or managing a communications team within the sporting industry. “I would love to manage or lead a team within the communications area of the sporting industry one day,” she said.

Taylah has paved a strong path for herself within the industry in a short amount of time and believes the possibility exists for anyone who wants to work in sport. “Embrace every opportunity that comes your way and always put your best foot forward,” she advised. “Build great relationships and develop skills that will set you up for a successful career in the sports industry.”
