COURSE DETAILS

The Diploma of Sport Management prepares you for a career leading and delivering sport at an elite football club, a community organisation, or a sport and recreation facility.

Facilitated by La Trobe University and embedded at IKON Park, you'll develop a grounded understanding of how sport is structured, managed, and run from programme design and human resources to policy, coaching systems, and community recreation. You'll gain future-focused skills in AI-driven fan engagement, marketing analytics and data-informed decision making, preparing you for the next generation of sport business.

The Diploma of Sport Management is one-year full-time, comprising of eight core subjects and 100 hours of industry placement where you'll graduate with the skills, the network, and the confidence to lead. To qualify for the award of Diploma of Sport Management, students must complete a total of 120 credit points. The qualification awarded on graduation is recognised in the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) as Level 5 - Diploma.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS 

All graduating Year 12 students will be eligible for diploma entry. Importantly, meeting minimum prerequisites does not guarantee an offer of a place. Entry into all La Trobe University courses is based on competitive selection and there may be limited places available.

ARTICULATION PATHWAYS

  • Direct enrolment into the 2nd year of Bachelor of Sport and Recreation Management.
  • Entry into a suite of other LTU Bachelor programs with recognition of prior learning, LTU can facilitate a discussion of individual student preferences.
