Carlton College of Sport: Graduate Pathways into Elite Sport
Carlton College of Sport graduates have achieved much success in graduate roles at the Carlton Football Club. Hear from our most recent batch of four graduates who have taken up important roles across the organisation to start the year.
Since 2019, a distinguishing characteristic of the Carlton College of Sport (CCoS) has been its investment in genuine career pathways for its graduating students. Each year, four students are appointed to graduate positions at the Carlton Football Club across a variety of roles and departments.
These graduate positions have proven to be an excellent launch pad for bright careers in sport, both within the Carlton Football Club and across the broader industry. Currently, 14 Carlton College of Sport alumni are employed full-time at the Club following a successful graduate year, with many others making a meaningful impact at organisations such as the Melbourne Football Club, Formula 1, TGI Sport, and more.
With 2026 now underway, our newest graduates to have joined the Carlton staff are:
- Jasmine Ferbrache – Membership Sales Officer
- Charlotte Sard – Retail Service Officer
- Sasha Peterson – CCoS Operations & Recruitment Assistant
- Zac Klidomitis – Corporate Sales Administrator
Speaking to the students, it is clear that they valued their time at CCoS, and view it is a useful stepping stone into the sport industry.
‘My favourite aspect of CCoS was the opportunity to get real work experience in what is a very professional environment. Because of these opportunities, I was able to narrow down my interests and gain more perspective on what I wanted to do long-term in my career and how I can achieve those plans’ - Zac Klidomitis
Importantly, the graduate roles provide a platform for students to grow and develop in a high-performing environment, honing critical skills and thinking as they commence their professional careers. The roles themselves are crucial cogs of the Club, contributing to key performance areas of the Club’s business strategy.
‘Since starting in my role, I’ve learnt how to work in a fast-paced environment while improving my ability to plan and complete tasks more efficiently. I’ve also learnt how important clear communication is when supporting incoming CCoS students and the wider Carlton team’ - Sasha Peterson
All graduating students are eligible to apply for the graduate positions, which means the benefits go far beyond the four successful applicants. All students are taken through a thorough interview process, comprised of phone screenings, video calls and in-person interviews with hiring managers and People & Culture staff members.
‘I am most looking forward to building stronger connections within the sports industry. I’m excited to meet and collaborate with a wide range of people both internally and externally. Building these relationships is something I genuinely value, and I’m eager to continue developing them as I progress in my role.’ – Jasmine Ferbrache
Graduate students have grown their careers to different departments across the Club. At the time of writing, there are over 14 employees across the organisation, from membership sales officers all the way up to the Head of the AFLW program who started their career in sport via CCoS.
‘Long term, I am keen to continue progressing in the sport industry. I am really enjoying my time in the Consumer Business department and would like to explore other roles that keep me connected with people, whether that is through retail, fan engagement or events.’ – Charlotte Sard
With a new cohort having commenced their studies in recent weeks, comes another batch of potential Carlton Football Club employees and sport industry professionals.
