MEET OUR COACHES
Torin Baker
Carlton College of Sport & Academy Coaching Lead/AFL Development Coach
Torin Baker is in his 3rd year at Carlton, having begun prior to the 2021 season. He leads the Carlton College Football development program, whilst being a Development coach with the AFL team.
Prior to beginning at Carlton, Baker was also a development coach with Hawthorn Football club.
A former VFL player and highly credentialed in country and metropolitan leagues, his extensive coaching background also extends to under age football where many players have gone onto AFL careers as the Western Jets coach for 6 years in the formerly named NAB League. (now Coates Talent League). Baker is an accredited AFL Level 3 coach.
Liam Heilberg
Carlton College of Sport Strength and Conditioning Coach and AFLW Rehabilitation Specialist
Liam is the High Performance Coordinator for the Carlton College of Sport, Football Development Program. He is an Osteopath and ASCA Level 2 Strength and Conditioning coach, who is currently the Rehabilitation Coordinator and Performance Coach for the Carlton AFLW team. Liam also teaches the Strength and Conditioning Unit at Carlton College of Sport.
Liam has a background in Clinical Private Practice work, Strength and Conditioning, and has taught Anatomy & Physiology at Victoria University, giving him a well-rounded approach to Athletic Performance and Rehabilitation.
Liam is a passionate coach and aspires to bring out the best in athletes and students alike, allowing them to fulfill their athletic potential!
Pip Henderson
AFLW & Carlton College of Sport Physiotherapist
Pip has been involved in the Carlton AFLW program for 6 seasons now. Her journey started as an intern in her final year of Uni with the inaugural VFLW program. Following this, she was offered an opportunity to step into junior physiotherapy role with AFLW. She has held roles across both both acute and rehab settings, providing exposure to injury management for both short and long term injuries.
Pip has been involved in CCoS for the past 3 years, offering physiotherapy support to the students involved. Her key role in CCoS is to assess injuries, new or existing, to advise on appropriate training loads and drill participation to best support the recovery of that injury. Pip also programs rehab, and guides return to play progressions and timeframes.
Kerryn Peterson
Carlton College of Sport Assistant Coach and AFLW Carlton Football Club Captain
Kerryn Peterson has been an assistant coach in the Carlton College of Sport since 2022. Kerryn is the current Carlton AFLW Captain, having played in the AFLW since 2018, and has been named All-Australian on 3 occasions. A former basketballer, Kerryn is a qualified Physiotherapist and is currently studying a Master of Business at La Trobe University.
MIMI HILL
Carlton College of Sport Assistant Coach and AFLW Vice-Captain
Mimi Hill has been an assistant coach in the CCoS football development program since early 2023. Mimi is currently the vice-captain for the Carlton AFLW team after being drafted out of the Oakleigh Chargers in 2020. Mimi is the reigning best and fairest winner at the blues after also winning the NAB rising star award in 2022. Along with the CCoS coaching position, Mimi also coaches a range of sports at a high school level and works with the Oakleigh Chargers Coates girls’ team.
